Things are looking up. I hope?

This morning I woke up to cheerful jabbering in the next room. (Well, after an alarm that could wake the dead went off at 6:30 am, because someone had an early meeting, even though the early meeting was trumped by the 6:35 am phone call alerting the IT Professionals to Impending Disaster, but WHATEVER.) Since yesterday the howling started at six and pretty much did not stop until well after bedtime, I am looking at this as a good sign.

And I need a good sign because today we are off to visit the grandparents AAAAND the cousins. That's right, the original sainted grandchildren are in town for two entire weeks which means we get to gaze upon their curls and blue eyes in the flesh, as well as harass my little brother in person instead of over Skype. We're quite looking forward to it, although part of me is a tiny bit worried the cousins are going to eat Jackson alive. They are three and a half-ish and nineteen-ish months and, from what I hear, a little more rowdy than my boy. Anyway, I have packed the camera to capture all moments of Freakishly Cute Toddler Bonding, if there is any to be had.

I've been keeping my Project Runway thoughts to Twitter, but I have to say: AWESOME CHALLENGE. I was not so sure at first, but it just got awesomer and awesomer. I was worried they were going to have to design ice skating outfits or something godawful like that, but I love how they were supposed to represent America and a full two thirds of them had no idea what that meant. Also, I am not sure what to think about Kenley, folks. Part of me wants that hair (plus the flowers) and part of me wants to lock her and her weirdo designs in a box until the reunion show. Oh, and I've decided I love Blayne. I don't care what you say. Every reality show needs a Blayne and I'm always happier when the Blaynes are silly and ridiculous instead of cocky and mean spirited. Plus I really liked his outfit last night. (Hides from the tomatoes.)

Here is where I include my contractually obligated link to Parenting, except my post is not up yet. Doesn't matter. I can tell you what it says in one word: whiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeee.

And we're off! Well, after I check out what The Manolo says about last night's episode. Required reading, you know.

Have fun with your visit! I hope the cheerfulness lasts.

No, I liked Blayne's outfit last night, too! (And I thought there was something wrong with me so I'm glad I'm not alone.) As much as I hate to admit it, I started to like him last night. I think you and I could've been side-by-side on the sofa last night. Barring the time difference. It was a great idea for a challenge--but how sad was it that many of them said they'd never seen the opening ceremonies? I mean, of all the people to watch and critique it, it should be the fashion people!

Getting the cousins together sounds like fun for Jack. :)

Okay, I did like Blayne's outfit last night, but you have to admit that his "bodysuit" with the crochet-ed underwear was pretty darn horrifying. :)

And, I thought it was kind of ironic when that guy threw a hissy fit about "his machine" when it was obvious that there were 20 other machines to use.

    :) Becky

Hey I may have figured out why you hate talking on the phone. SKYPE? Are you kidding me? I eventually just told my brother if he wanted to talk to me he needed to get a real phone. That Skype stuff is 70% static, and 15% each of can you hear me now? and what? Have a lovely visit in real time.

I love that you wrote about Project Runway! I totally love that show. And I agree with you about the outfits! I can't figure out if I like Kenley or hate her either. I did like the winner's outfit, but my favorite was Terri's. She's never won yet, but her designs are always SO good!
