This is short because WE ARE TIRED

Jack is eating dry cereal and a banana for breakfast. Well, to the extent that he eats anything anymore, which is not all that often. He threw up three times in his bed last night - THREE TIMES PEOPLE. That's three sheet changes, three pajama changes and no more blankets left in our house. Oh, and then the princess was up wanting to eat on the alternate hours that Jack was not barfing all over the crib and the adults in this house are one big mess of Tired and When Is The Next Flight To Hawaii?

Phillip was going to take the day off, but it turns out all the other computer geeks are sick or on vacation already or (GET THIS!) having BABIES (how DARE THEY) and therefore he should probably go to the office. Right now he's at the dentist and you know what? Even the dentist sounds like a day at the spa right now.

Anyway. Praise be to God for the exersaucer, which is the only baby contraption Molly tolerates, and PBS Kids, which is staving off any potential whining until I've fully woken up. Which is not happening any time soon.

Would you like to know the silver lining of three middle-of-the-night barfing episodes? Phillip took care of the first one completely on his own. I didn't even KNOW until Molly's squawks woke me up and Phillip said, as I was throwing the covers off my legs and cursing under my breath, "Hey, Jack threw up. But it's okay, I changed the sheets, everything's fine."

    I think I'll keep him.

My poor little Jack. He seems like his normal self, but he's ever so slowly lifting one little Kix pebble at a time into his mouth and weakly sipping his water. Pa. Thetic.

Ugh. Sorry about the sickness. I hope it doesn't spread to Molly. One thing about sick kids is that it makes us appreciate the annoying daily habits of their well-selves more. The constant crunching of goldfish crackers with her sippy is completely tolerable as opposed to the sick, pathetic, weak pushing-around-of-food she does when she doesn't feel well.

Aww... poor Jack. And poor you. Hope it's just a quick bug!

Who needs sleep anyway? At least that's what I keep telling myself...

After spending last weekend in the hospital (the only thing worse than spending the night in pediatrics is spending the night there with a toddler in ISOLATION-meaning he can not leave his tiny room and is pissed), this weekend brought the stomach bug. Except my Jack never wakes up to puke. He just pukes, roll around in it, moves to the other side of his bed, and pukes some more. So, when I come in to check on him before I go to bed, I am met with a room full of puke. Poor guy passed out on his rug while I scrubbed his crib and the surrounding floor, then removed every cottage cheese covered blanket and stuffy from the premises. He even slept through me cleaning him up. No more cottage cheese in this house for a while.

Boo for three different sick episodes! Poor Jack! Poor Maggie. Let me know if you need anything. Pedialite? Vodka? I'm there.

Yuck, I hope Jack feels better soon. And I hope that the barfing stops immediately. (I see from Twitter that it has not yet.)

I like the new picture! Cute!

So sorry to hear that Jack is feeling sick. I hope it passes quickly and you dont have to deal with more vomiting. I think there's very little more tiring than repeatedly changing sheets in the middle of the night. Hope you all get some sleep soon!

Oh no, poor Jack! I hope he's better soon and that it doesn't get passed along to anyone else in the family!

So sorry to hear about the sick kiddo. No fun, and I have been there, done that. Something helpful I learned (the hard way) is that once they barf they will more than likely barf again. In such situations, instead of cleaning multiple sheets I use lots of towels.

Go ahead and take the pillow off the bed if it isn't already ruined, so it doesn't, and put a towel inside a pillow case for them to sleep on. That makes an easy to clean pillow. Also, lay a towel next to the side of the bed, underneath the trash can which has a plastic grocery bag liner. Encourage them to aim for the trash can but tell them it is OK if they miss. (The towel is under the can in case they miss). Also, a towel over their sheet, preferably with a waterproof mattress cover over the mattress, and another towel to cover them up with. If puke gets on the towels just whip them off and lay new ones down, quickly, and they are easy to clean. Can you tell I have experienced this before? Hope this helps!

When it hits three times in one night it's really bad. When my daughter was barfing last month I dreaded a three-barf night because I was worried we'd run out of sheets and have to improvise. Each time she through up either my husband or I stayed up to take the sheets out of the washer and put them in the dryer just in case.

I hope Jack feels better soon and the rest of you stay healthy. Any husband who changes the baby's sheets in the middle of the night is worth his weight in gold.
