    NaBloPoMo kicked my butt

We have friends coming over in half an hour to watch 'Hairspray'. Which I think is my new favorite movie. Which means 'Clueless' is now my second favorite movie and people, I did not ever think there would be a movie to knock 'Clueless' off my movie pedestal. I mean:

"So okay, I don't want to be a traitor to my generation and all but I don't get how guys dress today. I mean, come on, it looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair - ew - and cover it up with a backwards cap and like, we're expected to swoon? I don't think so."

    I LOVE THAT MOVIE.

But now I have 'Hairspray'. Which is, like, the cinematic equivalent of chocolate sprinkles on hot fudge sundae. INSTANT HAPPINESS.

I said, "Phillip, you have to watch Hairspray because THEY want to watch Hairspray. Nyah nyah nyah!"

    Phillip: "Super."

Maggie: "I'll just tell them to pick it up on their way here."

Phillip: "That's okay. I'll go get it."

Maggie: "But you have to put the baby down."

Phillip: "Blockbuster's only down the street."

Maggie: "But they can just get it on their way."

    Phillip: "I don't mind."

Maggie: "DUDE. You can let them get the movie and we can focus on getting the baby to SLEEP. PRIORITIES, PHILLIP!"

    Phillip: *stony stony glare*

    Maggie: "WHAT."

Phillip: "I can pick up 'Hairspray' from DOWNSTAIRS."

    Maggie: "Huh?"

    Phillip: "MERRY CHRISTMAS."

Aww. What a great husband you have. That's a sweet story. Chocolate sprinkles on a hot fudge sundae for Phillip.

    ha HA.

i always ruin surprises, too. then feel awful.

i'm honestly delighted to know that someone else over the age of 17 finds clueless hilarious. (legally blonde (only the first) is another fav.) ahh, chick flicks and what not to wear and chick lit and celebrity magazines. some of the finer vices in life.

congrats on posting all 30 days!

Eh, I already have half my Christmas presents. An ice cream maker attachment for my KitchenAid mixer, five Williams-Sonoma books and a new piece for my Christmas village. The sad thing is that the books and ice cream maker are from my in-laws and they think I don't know yet.

OK, you quoted a whole paragraph from Clueless, so I trust you. I am putting Hairspray on my Netflix queue right this minute.

    Also, Phillip is adorable.

Yay, you made it all the way through November!

I think the thing that holds me back from Hairspray (haven't seen this one yet) is John Travolta. I've seen photos, or previews, and the sight of him in that getup just kinda turns me off. I can't explain it =) But if you say it's your new favorite, then I will add it to our queue!

Haha. That's too funny. :o) What a sweetheart of a husband you have! :o)

What a nice husband!! Did he come up with that all by himself? I still haven't seen Hairspray, though my family highly recommends it.

That's my favorite quote from Clueless!

I need to see this movie... I'm glad to know it's worth renting. That whole interchange between you and your hubs? Totally something I would do! Love it!

    Love Clueless. "As If!"
